No Vision
I photographed the annual ball of Samara University in 2018 and consider this report one of my best at that time. I decided not only to record events as a reporter at the 2019 ball, but also to explore the topic of subjective and objective in photography. I mounted an action camera on the back of my head to compare the power and depth of my subjective vision with the objective view of an action camera that automatically takes photos every 10 seconds. Everyone will decide for themselves whose photos turned out better. In my opinion, many of the shots taken with my back turned out to be no worse than the photos taken with my eyes. This project shows the importance for a photographer to bring additional meanings into his shots that are not available to a each participant or viewer of events. Otherwise, the photographer will be no more valuable than just a camera shooting “blindly”. NO VISION.
